Md. Firoz Sarker

Mr. Md. Firoz Sarker joined in the Ministry of Food as the Secretary on 01 December 2025. He belongs to17^th BCS Administration Cadre. He obtained Honors and Master’s Degree in Geography from University of Dhaka. In addition, he obtained another Master’s Degree in Disaster Management from the same university.  

Mr. Sarker joined as Assistant Commissioner in Nilphamari in 1998. Later, he served as Assistant Commissioner (Land) at Melandah Upazila of Jamalpur District, Dhamrai Upazila of Dhaka District and Narayanganj Sadar Upazila of Naraynganj District. Then, he worked as Upazila Nirbahi Officer at Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj District, Kachua Upazila of Chandpur District and Rajasthali Upazila of Ranagmati District. Also, he served in various capacities at the Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Communication Technology Division, Ministry of Land, Ministry of Commerce, Local Government Division. He acted as the Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Division. Before joining as the Secretary of Ministry of Food, he was the additional secretary of Ministry of Public Administration.  

In personal life, he is married and proud father of one son and one daughter.
